FAQ

Answers about the Fantasync workspace, accounts, sharing, and plans.

About Fantasync

What is Fantasync?

Fantasync is a doc-centric workspace. You land on Home, write notes, organize work in docs and Projects, and track due dates in Scheduled. Sharing is an email grant to an existing Fantasync account. Read Getting started for the first steps.

What is Home, and how is it different from a doc?

Home is your landing surface. It uses the same editor as a doc, but it is not itself a doc — items you put on Home stay on Home until you create or promote a real doc. A doc is a first-class record you can open, nest, and share. See Home and Creating a project.

Getting started

How do I sign in?

Create or open an account with Google or email. Details are in Sign in.

Where do I create a project?

Create a real doc when work needs its own place in Projects. You can start as layout items on Home and promote them later. See Creating a project.

Where is everything in the interface?

Understanding the interface maps Home, Projects, Shared, Scheduled, and the chrome around an open doc.

Platforms

Does Fantasync work in the browser?

Yes. Fantasync is browser-first. Open the app on desktop or mobile — no store listing is required.

Can I install it as a PWA?

Yes. Add Fantasync to your home screen for a standalone PWA on phones and tablets. See Mobile.

Is there a Windows or Mac app?

A Windows installer is available. A native Mac app is planned. Until then, use the browser or the PWA. The About Fantasync page lists platform availability.

Does Fantasync work offline?

The app is a PWA and caches the shell so you can reopen it after a visit. Cloud sync still needs a connection. See Mobile and Cloud sync.

Accounts and cloud

What sign-in methods are supported?

Google and email. See Sign in.

Does my workspace sync across devices?

Yes. Sign in to keep docs, notes, and layout items in sync. Read Cloud sync and Mobile.

Where do I manage my account?

Sign in on the account and billing page to review your Fantasync account.

Workspace

What is a layout item?

A layout item is one entry on Home or inside a doc — notes, tasks, tables, linked docs, and similar. It is not a doc until you create or promote one. Notes editor and Properties cover the everyday fields.

Where do I find my docs?

Open the Docs tab or Projects to browse docs you own. Docs shared with you appear in Shared.

How do tasks work?

Tasks live on docs and layout items. Set a due date and review upcoming work in Scheduled. See Tasks.

Writing and docs

Can I draw inside a doc?

Yes. Fantasync includes in-doc draw so sketches stay on the same surface as your notes.

Can I reuse a layout?

Yes. Templates let a new doc start from a layout you already use. There is also a short guide on using templates.

Are there comments and history?

Yes. Use comments on a doc, and open history to review earlier versions.

Can I change the theme?

Yes. Switch dark and light themes from the workspace.

Sharing

How does sharing work?

Sharing is an email grant to someone who already has a Fantasync account. They then open the doc from Shared. See Sharing and the share a doc tutorial.
